Great live review of what sounds like it was a fantastic show, wish I’d been there. Hope some live recordings of this group start floating around. Wislawa is shaping up to be my album of the year, it just keeps on giving.
The album deepens for me as well with every listen. Hearing this material live was instructive. It proved just how much detail ECM puts into its productions until they shine. The Birdland show was the ore before the diamond, but no less engaging for it. I feel privileged to have experienced both sides of the process.
